MyNavy
A next-gen experience transforming military life worldwide

Life in the Royal Navy can be demanding, with global deployments and high levels of responsibility. Behind the determination and duty, personnel were being hindered by legacy analogue systems making daily tasks needlessly complex, undermining job satisfaction and threatening retention. The Royal Navy needed transformation, fast.
The challenge: Create a digital employee experience that simplified Navy life, giving personnel the tools to take control of their career.

Real change builds from within, so we embedded ourselves in the ranks, conducting hundreds of interviews. We uncovered that personnel felt undervalued, uncertain about their future and powerless in a rigid system. The answer wasn’t just digital transformation. It was digital empowerment.
Through rapid prototyping, we put early versions of a new tool in users’ hands – proving its value before scaling. Then, with continuous feedback from personnel, the app evolved over time, introducing features from career management to click-and-collect uniform ordering. Real-world conditions were a prime consideration – for example using MyNavy in offline mode whilst at sea. Every feature was shaped by the people it served and the unique circumstances they work in.

Building an app in the military meant next-level security. We engineered a bullet-proof solution that seamlessly integrated with existing infrastructure to improve deployment. Clean, simple UI ensures time-poor personnel can access what they need, fast. The result: A military-grade tool supporting 72% of the workforce across 27 countries, with 8,000 daily visits.
MyNavy isn’t just an app – it’s an award-winning blueprint for digital defence transformation, winning a BIMA Gold for Best digital Transformation, DMA Bronze for Best Digital Product and Grand Prix at Digital Impact Awards. Now adopted by the RAF and studied internationally, it proves that when organisations empower their people, they stay, grow and thrive.
