STEM Learning Explorify and Resource Library

Used by over 75% of UK primary schools, Explorify gives educators ready-to-go resources that make science exciting and accessible for every student. But while teachers loved it, a lack of time meant many were missing the full picture.

Explorify’s parent brand, STEM Learning, offers over 14,000 free, quality-assured STEM resources – yet most went undiscovered. The two platforms were disconnected, with two user journeys, two logins and too much friction. And under the surface, both sat on legacy tech that couldn’t keep up with STEM’s ambition.

Our challenge was to bring them together - folding two standalone platforms into one unified ecosystem, streamlining the educator experience and laying the foundation for long-term growth.

We started with the people it mattered to most. Through research and testing, we designed an intuitive interface that felt simple, friendly and familiar. Journeys were streamlined, logins simplified and the friction switching between different platforms removed.

Behind the scenes, we migrated content into a modern, modular tech stack with minimal downtime – delivering long-term scalability and easier content management.

By merging two standalone platforms into one unified experience, we didn’t just improve usability – we unlocked discoverability. For teachers, it’s a smoother, more joined-up experience that puts more resources at their fingertips. For STEM Learning, it’s a powerful foundation for growth that removes barriers, reaches more learners, and opens up a richer world of learning for the next generation of scientists.

“Great State came in with a clear approach that made sure our products were reaching the educators who needed them most. We believe that the simplified interface and ecosystem will only make things easier for educators and help them make the most of their time.”
